Hapoel “Bank Yahav” Jerusalem is pleased to announce the signing of G Tarik Phillip (31, 1.91)
until the end of the season, plus an option for an additional season. Phillip returns for a second stint with the team after a brief period at the start of the 2020-21 season.
Phillip, a seasoned and respected combo guard, began the current season with Trefl Sopot in Poland, where he demonstrated great dominance in EuroCup games, averaging 12.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. Last season, he had a successful run with the London Lions, posting averages of 9 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.4 rebounds. In the past, he also played for teams such as Burgos, Venezia, and Tofa? Bursa.
"I’m happy to return to Israel and to Hapoel," Phillip said after signing. "My first stint was too short, but everyone understands that the current situation is completely different. We have an excellent, winning foundation, and I hope to contribute with my experience, toughness, and game understanding. I’m excited to wear red again and to experience our fans, this time for a longer period and hopefully with unforgettable moments together. Let’s go Hapoel!"
Coach Yonatan Alon said: “I’m glad we were able to sign Tarik until the end of the season. He’s a true professional and a player we know who will integrate quickly into our system. His EuroCup experience and toughness will bring us a lot."
