Hapoel “Bank Yahav” Jerusalem is pleased to announce the signing of center Dmytro Skapintsev (27, 2.16) for the upcoming season, with an option for an additional year.
Skapintsev, a native of Ukraine, began his career with BC Kyiv and soon caught the attention of the New York Knicks’ scouting staff, who signed him to a two-way contract with their G League affiliate. He is regarded as a center with excellent size, a strong presence in the paint, and proven shot-blocking ability. In his first two G League seasons, he averaged 10 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game. Last season, he played for the Portland G League affiliate, continuing to show consistency with 10 points, 8.2 rebounds, and nearly 2 blocks per game.
Head coach Yonatan Alon said: *“Dima will add toughness, rebounding, and good decision-making under the basket. He’s a player with tremendous potential and a strong presence in the paint.”*
