The 2024/25 season has kicked off. As announced, due to the security situation, Hapoel will host its home games in the EuroCup in the town of Samokov, Bulgaria.
Samokov, a small and charming town in Bulgaria, is located in a beautiful mountainous area, making it an ideal starting point for trips in the Rila Mountains and the nearby Smardala area. The town is known for its warm and friendly hospitality, with locals welcoming guests with smiles and generosity. Samokov is situated about 60 kilometers from Sofia, which has direct flights.
Small and Charming: That’s Samokov
The arena in the town is relatively small but very homey, with about 2,500 seats and a nearby hotel (Arena Hotel) that will allow the red army to come and support the team in Europe as well.

Samokov also offers a variety of outdoor activities for tourists, such as hiking and wandering through breathtaking landscapes, making it a great place to unwind from the daily grind—a perfect escape for any Israeli looking for peace in nature.
