Europe is RED: The red fans broke a record in the arena
The average crowd this season in the Champions League is the highest since Hapoel moved to the league.
The qualification of Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem reflects tremendous success on the floor, but not only. The red fans voted with their feet this season and returned to the arena stands, and in fact, this season the team enjoyed the highest average number of fans since the move to the Champions League in 2018.
The average crowd this season at home games in the Champions League is 6,496 fans per game. The big increase came thanks to qualifying for the Top 16 and the playoffs, where the series against AEK Athens attracted 7,312 fans for the first game and 11,600 for the third game—an all-time record for Hapoel in Europe.
For comparison, the average crowd at last season's Champions League matches was 4,608. In the 20-21 season, there was a crowd limit due to COVID. In the 19-20 season, before the league was stopped, the averages were 5,484. In the 18-19 season, Hapoel's first in the factory, the numbers stood at 6,489 fans on average, almost the same as the current season's figures.
