In the previous league round, Hapoel visited Holon for a tightly contested game through the first three quarters, before the Reds exploded with a 17-1 run in the fourth that sealed an 85-79 victory. Kiryat Ata, on the other hand, hosted third-place Hapoel Tel Aviv in an eventful game that saw both coaches ejected and a 10-minute delay due to whistling from the visiting stands. On the court, much like in Hapoel’s game in Holon, the matchup was close for three quarters, and although the Tel Aviv side led by only 3 in the fourth, they locked in defensively and pulled away for a 94-77 road win.
Now, Hapoel and Kiryat Ata meet again. The two had swapped home games in the first round due to the intense fighting in the north at the time, with their earlier matchup taking place in the legendary Malha Arena. That night had an old-school feel, with Hapoel’s Israeli players putting on a show and young Nir Perry getting on the scoreboard – scoring what, for now, is the final field goal in Malha’s history.

Chachashvili – Strong contribution from the Israeli core
The Reds landed back in Israel this past Thursday after a crucial EuroCup matchup the night before against Bourg in France – a potential must-win that could have seriously complicated their playoff hopes. Despite entering the game on shaky form, Hapoel came out firing and held a double-digit lead just three and a half minutes in. Harper delivered another brilliant performance with 31 points and was once again named EuroCup MVP of the round, while Carrington added 15 of his own. The Reds led by as many as 30 on their way to a crushing 94-67 win. With a win next week against Türk Telekom, Hapoel will punch a direct ticket to the EuroCup quarterfinals. Now, the Reds shift their focus back to domestic action, looking to keep their momentum going in the Israeli league.
