After a EuroCup loss that ended their nine-game winning streak across all competitions, Hapoel extended their league streak to seven tonight (Saturday) with an 84-80 overtime victory over Galil Elyon at the arena. Jonathan Alon's players faced a particularly tough opponent—who, despite lacking frontcourt players, managed to stay close throughout—but under assistant coach Theodoros Yanakopoulos’s guidance, the Reds overcame the extra five minutes and maintained their top spot with a 7-2 record. On Wednesday, the team will try to get back on the winning track in the EuroCup when they “host” Lithuania’s Lietkabelis in Bulgaria.

Shahar Amir then hit a three-pointer, cutting the gap to 31-26. Ogbeide and Cornelius pushed Hapoel further ahead, Carrera scored quickly on the other end, but Zoosman’s free throws gave his team a 37-28 lead at halftime.
