Matan opened up and presented the special connection he has to basketball and the city of Jerusalem: I was exposed through my family to Israel, Jerusalem, and the uniqueness of the land and this city. I have a commitment to the people here," Adelson added. "I've been a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant in particular since I was young. For me, Kobe embodied grit, an unmatched work ethic, and incredible determination. Growing up, I took a lot of inspiration from him, watching him strive to be the best version of himself, and through my leadership, I hope to manifest this mentality in this club for now and for years to come.
After that, Matan continued and revealed his vision for the team: "A basketball team is coming to Jerusalem that represents the uniqueness of this city. Our vision consists of several layers - the desire is to recruit new talents to the team in addition to those currently employed to create the best team off the court." On the goals: "The number one goal is to win titles. The goal is to win titles. Hapoel Jerusalem deserves a place in the Euroleague."
