Herzliya tied the series against Hapoel

The quarterfinal series between Bnei Herzliya and Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem has reopened. The Herzliians, who came to the game tonight (Sunday) with their backs against the wall after the loss last Thursday, showed superiority from the first moment at the Yovel arena, while presenting a particularly tough defense, all the way to an impressive victory, 64:75 over the cup holder.

Course of the game

Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem started with the five: Speedy Smith, Or Cornelius, Levi Randolph, Mareks Meiris, and Zach Hankins. Beni "Ofek Dist" Herzliya with Quinton Hawker, Oded Brandwein, Chris Babb, Maurice Kemp, and Julian Gamble Hankins got on the board first with a basket in the paint; Hawker responded with a 3-pointer, but Randolph answered with a long jumper. Gamble and Kemp converted; Smith responded with two from the line, but Robert Carter pulled away with a dunk. Kahadeen Carrington and Hankins tried to shrink, and on the other hand, Hawker and Kravitz led an escape with three shots from the outside, which established a lead of eight, and at the end of ten minutes, 10:18 for the host.

Kravitz and Babb led a 0:5 run, which gave their team a thirteenth lead. Blayzer had two under the basket, and on the other side, Kemp increased the advantage with four consecutive points, 12:27. D?iki? called a timeout, and on the return from it, Brandwein went away with a 3-pointer. Hankins closed with a layup, but Kravitz continued his 3-point frenzy with another. Meiris and Brandwein scored on each side; Cornelius narrowed the gap with a shot from outside the arc, and on the other hand, Gamble answered with a basket in the paint. The Jerusalemites woke up with a 2:8 run, Gamble pulled away again with three unanswered points, which sealed the result of the half, and at the break, it was 26:42 for the Herzleinians.

Randolph made a layup to open the half; Kemp answered with one from the line, but Smith cut it to twelve with a three in transition. Cline reduced the difference to ten, Hawker did not allow the guest to get close with a shot from the outside, Smith and Gamble scored on each side, and immediately after, Smith and Carrington completed four unanswered points, 41:51. Carter kept the distance with a half-distance shot at the end of the 24-hour clock. Hankins answered with a layup, but Kravitz sewed up another 3-pointer, which put his team ahead by thirteen. Randolph had the last word with a hard floater, and at the end of three quarters, it was 46:57 for the group from The Sharon.

After a minute and a half of chaos, Smith scored with a jumper that reduced the score to single digits; Brandwein answered with two from the line; and on the other hand, Cornelius finished a nice personal move with a successful layup. Carter and Brandwein led the way with four unanswered points, and on the other side, the guest completed a 0:6 run, which reduced it to minus seven only. Kemp went away with a layup, Cornelius made a big three-pointer, but Gamble was again in the right place with an impressive dunk, 59:67. The Jerusalemites did not give up; Smith clinched with a basket and a foul; Kemp answered with four consecutive points; and on the other side, Randolph dunked twice from the line. Carter did the same on the other side and closed the story, and in the end, it was 64:75 for Aharoni's players.

"Ofek Dist" Herzliya boys: Kravitz 14 (4-4 for threes, 1-5 for twos, 5 assists), Gamble (6-14 from the field, 1-9 from the line, 7 rebounds, 4 steals), and Kemp (5-9 from the field, 3-5 from the line, 8 rebounds) each 13, Carter 12 (3-7 from the field, 5-6 from the line, 6 rebounds), Brandwein 10 (3-4 from the field), Hawker 9 (3-6 for three, 0-3 for two, 4 assists), and Babb 4 (1-9 from the field). Also participating: Schwartz and Michaeli Wartman.
