Tomorrow: Hapoel Hosts Aris

After getting back on track with two consecutive wins, Hapoel returns tomorrow (Thursday) at 20:00 to the European stage, looking to bounce back with a win after three straight losses to start the second round of the regular season. The Reds will host Aris Thessaloniki in Smocov. The game will be broadcast live on the "Israel Hayom" smart apps.

Hapoel faced Thessaloniki in the previous round on Matchday 4 in Greece and came away with a 10-point win on the road. The Reds’ top scorer in that game was Justin Smith, who returns tomorrow to EuroCup action for the first time since late October, after going off for 18 points on 88.9% shooting from the field. Justin also scored in double digits in the following game before his injury. This past Sunday, he made his league comeback and was named MVP in Hapoel’s win over Netanya, delivering a brilliant second half and finishing with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Since the last meeting between the teams, the Greek side has recorded six losses and only two wins. Although they got back to winning ways with a win over Lietkabelis last round, they still sit in 9th place in the group. That said, Group B remains wide open — the gap between 2nd and 5th place is just one game, and Aris trails 6th place (the final spot for the Play-In) by only three losses. With six games left in the stage, every game becomes more and more critical. All that’s left is to wish the Reds good luck.
