Even after 28 years: Hapoel lights up Hadassah

Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem and Hadassah continue their traditional collaboration, as players from the team visited Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital during Hanukkah for a candle-lighting ceremony. They toured the wards, handing out gift bags to the children.** The event, led by Yuval Koren and Community Relations Manager Irit Einav, has been held for the 28th year in a row. Once again, the Reds arrived with heartfelt wishes and a winning spirit they hoped to pass on to the children. The players met the young patients at Hadassah and - as always - lifted their spirits.

Ido Simchi, a 14.5-year-old boy who recovered from cancer, moved everyone when he said: “A big part of my victory over cancer was joy, and Hapoel played a big part in that.”

A 28-year tradition. Khadeen Carrington gives a gift to one of the children.

"This is the least we can do for the community, for the people, for the fans – to give you a joyful moment," said Yovel Zoosman.
"This emotional partnership with Hapoel Jerusalem has lasted many years, and we’re happy and thankful for it," added Prof. Yoram Weiss, CEO of Hadassah. *"Beyond adopting Hadassah's hospitalized children, Hadassah’s medical teams provide full care for the team, and we are very proud to be part of the club and its values, and to enjoy its generosity to the community."*

Bank Yahav stated:
"We are proud to take part in this moving initiative alongside the players of Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, combining sports with community contribution. The bank’s support and involvement in the hospital visit highlight our commitment to values of social responsibility and strengthening our bond with the community and the city of Jerusalem. We will continue to support initiatives that benefit society and promote mutual responsibility."

Community Relations Manager Irit Einav said:
*"We are proud to be here, for the 28th consecutive year. Just like the hospitalized children, the players look forward to this visit - an opportunity to meet fans, bring joy to children and families going through a difficult time, and connect with the city's residents. Community engagement is one of the cornerstones of the club, and I’m certain many more years of true partnership and deep friendship with Hadassah Hospital lie ahead."*
