After a week of rest, the State Cup holders return to action tomorrow (Sunday), when they visit newly promoted Netanya at 20:50, looking to stay at the top of the standings - at least for now. The game will be broadcast live on Sport 5. Justin Smith, who has been sidelined for an extended period, is expected to return to the Reds’ squad.

In the previous round, Hapoel hosted Maccabi Tel Aviv at Pais Arena. Jonathan Alon’s squad entered the game as clear underdogs, but from the opening tip they dominated, racing out to an 18–2 lead after just five minutes and never letting the yellow team close the gap, eventually building a lead of over 20 points. Yovel Zoosman, who was named MVP of the game, shined against his former team with 17 points, including four three-pointers at an incredible 80% clip. Jared Harper added his usual brilliance with 30 points and 5 assists, earning Player of the Round honors. The Reds' explosive offensive performance carried them to a resounding 101–84 win in front of a roaring Arena crowd.

Hapoel and Netanya have faced each other 18 times over the years, with the Reds holding a slight 10–8 advantage. The last time the teams met was just over a decade ago, in the 2013/14 season, when Brad Greenberg’s squad traveled to Yeshurun Hall in Netanya and cruised to an 85–64 win led by Lior Eliyahu (17 points) and Josh Duncan (15). In away games against the Netanya side, the record is even at 5–5 - meaning tomorrow’s game will tilt the all-time series one way or the other
