After five consecutive wins in all competitions, Hapoel continued (this evening) its excellent form with a convincing "home" EuroCup win, 77:86 over French team Bourg – last season's finalist – a third straight win in the competition that cements its place in second in Group B, behind Valencia. Despite a poor start and an early 15:7 deficit, Yonatan Alon's squad showed character and gradually took over the game. Jared Harper was once again the reliable asset with 18 points on 4/5 from three and nine assists, while Gabi Chachashvili continued to make the most of his minutes with 20 points on 72% from two-point range and 11 rebounds – both personal EuroCup highs. Kadim Carrington also contributed with 14 points.
Hapoel dominated the boards with 47 rebounds compared to 39 for the visitors, including 15 offensive rebounds, shot 53% from two-point range, and displayed excellent defensive play by forcing the French side into especially low shooting percentages. Hapoel’s lead gradually grew and peaked in the fourth quarter, and a last effort by the French to get back into the game was stopped by the tough defense presented by the hosts. The Reds will return to Israel for their Saturday night game against Afula at the Arena, their last before the national team break.

Chachashvili finishes in the paint. Career night for the forward

Game summary:
Hapoel starters: Jared Harper, Kadim Carrington, Yuval Sussman, Chris Johnson, Gabi Chachashvili
Bourg starters: Maxime Saleh, Hugo Benitez, Jordan Ashe, Kevin Kokila, Brandon Paul

Bourg started well - Paul found Pansa with an assist and added a three-pointer to make it 5:0. Benitez kept the French side strong, bringing the score to 15:7, but Jared Harper got going with back-to-back threes to cut it to 15:13. The momentum shifted to Hapoel, Noam Dovrat scored his first points, and a basket by Derek Ogbeide off a Harper assist gave Hapoel a 20:21 lead at the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter, the teams continued to trade leads. Harper led Hapoel with a drive and two free throws. Paul and Ashe kept Bourg close and even took the lead before halftime, while Chachashvili dominated the offensive boards to keep Hapoel within striking distance – 37:41 at the break.

Carrington dives for a loose ball

Hapoel came out strong in the second half — Johnson scored off a Harper assist, who also found Morgan for a three to regain the lead. Nelson scored five for Bourg, but Harper kept running the show, finding Chachashvili for two straight buckets and hitting a three to make it 46:53. Ashe answered with a three, but Sussman matched it, and Cornelius – not for the first time this season – hit a buzzer-beater to make it 55:63 at the end of the third.

In the fourth, Hapoel took full control. Dovrat opened the quarter with a basket, Harper found Chachashvili again to make it 59:72. Bourg responded with a solid stretch, especially from Kokila, who helped cut the lead back to single digits. But Chachashvili kept dominating, Carrington hit from the line, and Hapoel closed out the game with a solid win – 77:86.
