Hapoel extends impressive winning streak with 82-61 victory over Hapoel Haifa in Round 6. Hapoel continued their impressive run tonight (Sunday) by defeating Hapoel Haifa 82-61 in the sixth round of the league. The Reds found themselves trailing at the end of the first quarter at Romema, made a comeback in the second quarter, and returned from halftime with a decisive 16-0 run that sealed the game. Captain Yuval Zosman delivered another outstanding performance, leading five players in double digits with 17 points, including three three-pointers in the third quarter. He also added nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals on the way to a 29 efficiency rating.

Wooten scored quickly, Pinkney blocked Dovrat in the paint, and the Haifa point guard followed with a three-pointer giving Haifa an early 5-0 lead. Hapoel responded after a minute and a half with Johnson scoring after an assist from Carrington, who added another assist to Chachashvili finishing in the paint. Bey hit a three-pointer but Chachashvili replied with a soft jumper near the free-throw line. Pinkney began to impact the offense with two putbacks after teammates’ misses, scoring a basket and a dunk that gave Haifa a 12-6 lead. Chachashvili continued to shine with another paint basket, Johnson added another inside, but Pinkney answered on the other side with a dunk. Wooten’s second three-pointer brought the hosts back to a four-point lead before Yuval Zosman entered from the bench and responded with two quick baskets. Meanwhile, Daniel Rozenbaum scored his first points, and Alex Sobel went 3-for-5 from the line, helping Hapoel finish the quarter with a 22-17 lead.

The second quarter opened with Zosman making two free throws, followed by Harper hitting Hapoel’s first three-pointer of the game after nine misses from beyond the arc, tying the score 22-22. Carrington kept the momentum going with a precise jumper, and a technical foul on the home team’s bench allowed Harper to increase the lead from the line. Gil Noyevich stole the ball and assisted Wooten, who completed a three-point play, then added two free throws after a flagrant foul by Carrington. The guard was determined to redeem himself and scored 8 straight points in less than a minute, including two three-pointers, giving Hapoel a 34-29 lead. Workman responded with a layup, but Johnson continued the excellent quarter for the Reds, hitting a corner three after an assist from Dovrat. Wooten answered with his third three-pointer of the half, Pinkney added two accurate free throws, but Johnson capitalized on a turnover by Bey to maintain the lead. Derek Ogbeide finished a nice play inside, before Pinkney made two free throws to end the half at 41-36 in favor of Jonathan Alon's team.

Johnson opened the third quarter with a corner three assisted by Chachashvili while Haifa struggled to score. Zosman kept up the team’s momentum with a three-pointer, added an assist to Johnson on a fast break, and Chachashvili completed another paint move. Carrington converted a three-point shooting foul and made the free throws, extending the lead to 52-36. The home team looked offensively lost, and Hapoel continued to exploit that as Zosman hit his second three-pointer of the quarter before Cameron Young stopped Hapoel’s 16-0 run with free throws. Forward Johnson made two free throws, and Ogbeide finished a nice offensive rebound play, extending the lead to 21. After nearly eight minutes into the quarter, Sobel scored Haifa’s first field goal after a great assist by Noyevich. Ogbeide answered with offensive rebound points before Sobel replied again inside. The last word in the quarter was Hapoel’s - Zosman nailed his third three-pointer since halftime, and Dovrat finished the quarter with a layup in the final seconds to put Hapoel ahead 68-46 after a dominant 27-10 third quarter.

The fourth quarter started with Young scoring a layup off Sobel’s pass, Ogbeide quickly answered with a basket inside and a free throw following a flagrant foul by Haifa’s center. Haifa, led by Wooten and Pinkney, woke up and Pinkney scored two dunks on the way to four consecutive points after a mid-range shot by Wooten. Even a timeout called by Jonathan Alon did not energize his team, as Rozenbaum nailed a three-pointer to cut the gap to 72-57. Johnson and Chachashvili connected on a nice two-man play, Harper made two free throws, Pinkney answered with another paint basket, but a three-pointer by the Reds’ point guard restored the 20-point lead. Dovrat hit from beyond the arc, before young Itay Schneider made two free throws to seal the game’s final score - 82-61 for Hapoel.
