Hapoel loses to Peristeri
The Reds struggled against the intense defense of the Greeks and lost 76:61. The team is still hanging on as a win next week against Karsiyake will book them a ticket to the quarter-finals of the Champions League

After last round the Reds defeated the Greek Peristeri in an away game after extra time, this week Hapoel came to Szombathely in Hungary for a "home" game and lost 76:61 to the team from Greece. The Jerusalemites struggled against the intense and aggressive defense of Peristeri and were unable to come out with the upper hand. The Reds are still hanging on, with a win next week against Karsiyaka giving them a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Course of the game
1st Quarter
Hapoel started the game with Speedy Smith, Or Cornelius, Levi Randolph, Nimrod Levi and Zach Hankins. The Reds were the first to get on the board but immediately after them 2 three-pointers by Peristeri changed the result. A basket by Nimrod Levi and Khadeen Carrington's energetic entry brought the Reds closer and narrowed the gap. Hapoel almost reversed the difference but the Greeks remained with the advantage thanks to several stops. At the end of the quarter - 16:17 to Peristeri.

2nd Quarter
Brynton Lemar opened the second quarter with three free throws that turned the score around and gave Hapoel the advantage. Oz, who also excelled in defense, together with Speedy Smith played excellently and managed to slowly increase the Jerusalem advantage. Peristeri went on a run with theirs and managed to stop the Reds' attacks time and time again and gain their own lead which sent Kantzouris to a timeout. Speedy Smith rose from the time-out with a three-pointer, but Peristeri and Ragland ran back to the lead - 44:37 in the half.

3rd Quarter
The Reds started the quarter a little surprised following an aggressive and intense defense presented by the Greeks. Peristeri, thanks to her defensive stops, launched passing attacks and almost doubled their advantage. Hapoel started to go inside, among other things to take advantage of a problem of fouls by some of the taller ones of Peristeri when very good moves by Jacorey Williams and Chris Johnson managed to balance the result a little but at the end of the quarter - 59:54 for Peristeri.

4th Quarter
The team from the capital had a hard time keeping up with the pace and intensity of Peristeri who ran the field, managed to get into their offensive flow in most parts of the game, tightened the defense and forced Hapoel to reach the end of the clock in many positions. The Reds managed to reach flashes of successful attacks but had difficulty maintaining consistency and narrowing the gap.
