Hapoel defeated Kiryat Ata this evening (Saturday) at the Pais Arena in Jerusalem 97:83. In front of the home crowd and after a tremendous and unusual offensive display in the first quarter (38 points in the quarter), the Reds came out with the upper hand for the important game on Wednesday against Tenerife. Khadeen Carrington (16 points) excelled and together with a lot of players who arrived properly for the game led Hapoel to victory.
In the game, the club celebrated International Women's Day and gave a lot of respect to women's sports in general and women's basketball in particular. The senior team of Hapoel "Lev" Jerusalem hosted the game, a poster announced the course of the game and during the various community activities girls and women participated.

Ironi Kiryat Ata opened the third quarter in its typical frenzy and went on a 10:0 run on the way to a coach Kantzuoris timeout. The Reds did struggle offensively at the beginning of the last quarter but presented an iron defense, led by Zach Hankins and Oz Blayzer, in order to prevent the team from the north from starting their own comeback. The Reds managed to stabilize the attack and create regular moves, but Kiryat Ata continued to score at good percentages and get closer to the Reds from Jerusalem. Back from the timeout, Zach Hankins scored another amazing alley-oop with an assist from Speedy Smith who also added a 3-pointer to bring the lead back to double digits. Hapoel tightened the defense and in the end - 97:83 for Hapoel.
