Always together: The special project of Hapoel

The Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem is excited to announce an important and touching project, in which the team will fly to the team's games in Belgrade families who have lost their loved ones during the war, as well as fans of the team who lost their dear ones during the war. The journey of these families will take place in two rounds: the first time today, for the game against PAOK Thessaloniki, and the second time next week, for the game against Partizan Belgrade.

We are thrilled that Ofir Engel, a fan of the team who was abducted to Gaza and returned home safely, is joining the first trip with his family. In both trips, Hapoel will fly around 25 families, intending to create a support circle for them, along with other families who have become fate partners. We hope that this circle, alongside the experience of Hapoel playing abroad, will alleviate, even if slightly, the tremendous pain of these dear families.

Hapoel would like to express gratitude to its major business partners, Bank Yahav and RTMI company, who have joined forces for the sake of the families and are actively participating in this exciting project. CEO of Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem, Alon Kremer, said: "This is a very exciting day in the history of Hapoel Jerusalem. There is no greater privilege for us, as a basketball club, than to be there for families dealing with significant loss, longing, and pain, and to connect these families in order to strengthen our community in such a difficult and complex reality. I want to thank the team owners, Matan Adelson, for their absolute commitment to the families, and our partners, Bank Yahav and RTMI, who recognize the high value in this important community activity."

Avshalom Buskila, CEO of Bank Yahav, said: "We are proud to stand by the families of fans who lost their loved ones, dedicated fans of Hapoel 'Bank Yahav Jerusalem,' in the barbaric attack of October 7th and in the war, and to initiate together with the team the project to fly 25 bereaved families to the team's game in Serbia. It is a great privilege to stand by the families of war victims, and we hope to provide them with an opportunity to find encouragement and comfort, even if only slightly, in these difficult times."

Stav Shacham, CEO of RTMI, said: "We are excited and proud to take part in a project whose sacred purpose is to support bereaved and abducted families. The events of October 7th knocked on almost every door in our country, and the difficulty is great and unbearable. In these days, we learn that although our country is so small, it is so big for us and in our hearts. RTMI appreciates the right to participate in this important project of Hapoel Jerusalem and to allow the families of the fans a small comfort, even if only for a few moments. We fight like lions. Only together will we win!"
