NBA Legend Amar'e Stoudemire joins Hapoel for his second term in Red

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem is proud to announce the return of six-time NBA All-Star and former Israeli Champion Amar’e Stoudemire on a one year deal. Stoudemire will arrive on Thursday and will join Hapoel's roster for the 2018-19 season.

Stoudemire is a 14 year NBA veteran who was drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the ninth pick of the 2002 NBA draft, going on to play eight seasons for the team. In 2010, he signed with the New York Knicks and then played half a season with the Dallas Mavericks before ending his NBA career with the Miami Heat. Over his career, Stoudemire averaged nearly 19 points and 8 rebounds per game. He was one of the most dominant power forwards of his era and from 2004 – 2010 formed one of the most successful pick-and-roll tandems in the NBA with Suns teammate Steve Nash.

Amar'e Joined Hapoel on August 2016 after his retirement from the NBA, leading the club to its best season ever with Winner Cup, State Cup final, Eurocup Semi Final and the 2nd Israeli Champhionship in club's history.

Stoudemire, Who announced his return on his Instagram account:  "I am looking forward to returning to Hapoel Jerusalem and bringing home titles." “I have a great love for all the people of Israel: past, present and future, and it’s humbling to represent the city of Jerusalem, which has inspired so many around the world."
